so i've been at ffi for over a year now, right? and for almost a full year of that, i've had health insurance... i recently admitted to myself that maybe i haven't been using it to the full extent of its usefulness, and finally made a damn dentist appointment.
the last time i went to the dentist it was snowing outside and my car was slippin' around on the ice in the parking lot. that puts us back to about february of 2004... not good people, not good. 'specially when you're really supposed to go every 6 months.
when i go to my spanky new dentist on september first, i fully expect the same crap i get every time i get my teeth cleaned - number one, i don't floss as much as i should. number two, i really need to get my wisdom teeth pulled. but i may actually look into that second one this time, since i think with the insurance i have now it's only $50 a tooth. $150's still a lot and i have no idea how that'll work financially, but the buggers are comin' in sideways so i should probaby rip em out before they pierce my brains and eyeballs and other necessary head-related organs...

how long since your last dentist appointment? 20 points to you for sharing with the class!
p.s., i put oc fair pics up today! check em out!

Haha, enjoyed the pics very much! Escpecially the domesticated animal genitalia--thank you! My last dental appt was in...June. I have to go 4x a year, can you believe this? Apparently I'm one of the lucky people who are just prone to gingivitis, so I have to get 'em professionally cleaned 4x a year and have this crazy 6-step oral hygiene routine twive a day (that's why i don't wear makeup--no freaking time!). On top of that, I had to get gum surgery a couple of years ago to reinforce my lower gums?! I was so bummed out, but the ole teeth have been doing really well (they damn well better be, with what I have to go thru!). So take care of your choppers, that's all i gotta say.
i can honestly say the last time i went to the dentist was when i went off to college. yes that's right 1996. which is why i need whitestrips and am sorta worried about some of my gums. i never took advantage of the insurane we had in the kosh as you know. well anyways, the dentist back then screwed up my xrays and thought my wisdom teeth were impacted but alas they are not. they are growing in quite well. we just talked about going to the dentist over the weekend cuz john is on me about doing it. i am a horrible person! we're now going to find out if you can still get em cleaned on the cheap by the hygienists at aasu!
ahahahahha the kosh!!
hey be careful with those whitestrips dude, cuz if you use em too much they can eat up your teeth!
p.s. damn i do not wanna be spending five hours a day cleaning my teeth a'la other artist steph!
Well, I got my braces in 10th grade, and my dentist recommended that, I got them off in 12th grade, but only saw an orthodontist during those years. I havent seen a dentist since 10 grade sometime. about 10 years I would say. Havent brushed my teeth in over 2 years.. but I think we all know that....
WEEEEEEE-OOOOO!!!
I know that Trav's favorite dentist Duane, will be here shortly to give us a stern lashing. I, like Jen, have not been since about 96. And how sad is it that like Steph, I've had insurance for over 5 years now.

This is Duane, the obsessive-compulsive dentist: Yes I do quietly monitor your blogs and I will be waiting for all of you (tools in hand) this October.
