i just got accused of hating robots because i don't want a roomba.

i, steph calvert, that's getting ready to have a robot painting show, (december 3 - january 31 at siren in long beach with a reception on december 15th from 630-930pm you like how i worked that in there?) got accused of hating robots.

wtf, mate, wtf. i wouldn't say i hate robots, i would say i hate the idea of spending 200 bucks on something that may or may not clean my floor as good as i can, and i can clean my floor for free.

so put that in your pipe and smoke it! all the way to the robot painting show!

We made apple pie for thanksgiving this morning! Im starving!

happy thanksgiving, chumos!!! i'm thankful that josh was able to get the day off! now instead of hanging out at home working on painting all day and then eating with him when he got home from work, we're actually doing thanksgiving style plans, goin' out to see his aunt and uncle and cousins in riverside for the day, hooray!

what this means for you is we're putting the shake and bake turkey on hold. maybe we'll cook it up for xmas? don't be sad homies, there IS a shake and bake turkey on the horizon, it's just a question of when.

other news... dates were set for my painting show! and i'm 3/4 done with the paintings for it! i'm hoping to finish the last four over this long weekend, and then it's just framing and hanging! pow!

aaaaaaaand if you're in the l.a. area be sure to stop by the handmade for the holidays show at fairfax high school on friday and saturday, it's gonna be awesome!

vacation ruuuuuuulez!

okay so i've been on vacation and am still on it through the weekend but i wanted to share two things with you:

number one not really doing anything for halloween is lame and josh and i will never do it this way again. there's nothing worse than not having time to put together an awesome costume like sexy abe lincoln or the reno 911 folks and then walking into a "costume store" at the last minute to try and choke down one of their completely stupid costumes. we ended up not doing costumes this year at all and just had some beers at a bar near his bro chris' last saturday so we could chuckle at all the lame costumes.

number two: i had THE WEIRDEST DREAM EVER last night.

i don't remember all of it, but here's some finer points: it was all about how burger king had a new commercial where they had a 70s looking burger king working the counter, and the new creepy one came in to buy a burger, and the new burger king was played by that dude who starred in hot rod, which didn't make ANY difference because he had that crappy creepy mask on. i rememeber telling josh lots more about it, but i can't remember much more than that right now... i do remember there was a point where in my dream i was sleeping and remembered a dream i had while i was sleeping in my dream, which was weird.

point being, i went through a patch where i didn't remember dreams at all for months and months, and then started a new job and started remembering dreams again and they're as wacky and strange as they've always been. so there's that. if you're not remembering dreams like you used to, change what's stressing you out and they'll probably come back.

number four: allegedly, according to suzi boneshaker there's awesome pillowcases to be had at target so imagonna go see if i can wrangle josh's mom into a trip there this morning.
