procrastination nation...

i was doing so good for a while, updating almost regularly again... here's what's been up:

number one, get your butt to the movies and see yourself some reno 911 miami the movie. AMAZING. seriously, all of a sudden there's all kinds of movies i'm really interested in seeing after not caring about going to the movies at all for the past few months. this weekend black snake moan comes out, there's blades of glory with will ferrell on the horizon... what else. something else was coming out that i was into. it sure as hell wasn't the hills have eyes 2, which i saw a billboard for on the freeway while on the way home today...

number b, i got rear-ended on the freeway on the way home from work yesterday and it just makes me so mad the way it all happened. traffic was stop and go, the car in front of me stopped, i stopped, the guy behind me didn't stop fast enough. and then in the hullabaloo of where we were at on the freeway and trying to get over to the shoulder and traffic and bullshit the guy gets ahead of me, motions like he's going to pull onto the shoulder - i figure he's gonna wait until after the mess of mergey lanes we were at, so i go to the other side of that and he's just gone. so hit and run, hooray for that. upside is i'm totally okay, the car's just got lots of bad scrapes on the back bumper. fixes for another time, you know what i'm sayin?

thirdly, america's next top model starts again tomorrow night and i would be lying if i said i wasn't excited. i just dig seeing the artsy fartsy photos they come up with. i think my favorite from last season was the bullfighting pics annnnd i think there was one where they were dressed up like animals? or is that another season i'm thinking about... whatever, i'm ready with my big fatty bowl of poopcorn!

the vet told us yesterday that jimmy's gettin a little tubby, so that boy's on a bit of a diet to get him back in line.

the website's comin along awesome, sometime this week i'll be puttin more up in the shop and hopefully this weekend i can finish that up so i can concentrate on makin new things, aka getting going on that painting jenn won in january...

i'm currently supposed to be working on a logo/business card thing but man i keep getting sidetracked and HOW IS IT ALMOST 11 ALREADY! back to work with me. later!

man, why's it gotta be so nice outside? mocking me, making me not wanna work on the website and go to the dog beach with jimmy... it's warm and everything! i would even wear shorts! probably. maybe. okay at least i would take my shoes off, it's warm enough for that...

i'm thinkin this whole site, including putting shit in the store once it's laid out all fancy, we'll be ready for a grand opening party beginning of april - meaning you better start saving up, there's gonna be tons of awesome things to buy! and if you get on the mailing list before then, you'll find out about a super-secret giveaway just for the mailing list! oooo, so exclusive!

friday night josh and i went out with michelle to sorta celebrate a milestone for her - and we left with me looking forward to a lighthearted easy fun night. we get to the reno room by michelle's place and can't find parking ANYWHERE. it's only 8 at night people, why isn't there parking anywhere! so we got something about 3 blocks away... went to the reno room and sat there for a good 20 minutes waiting for the waitress to come over and get our drink order, food order, whatever, please just please acknowledge we're here!!! so we left after she blatantly looked at us and kept walking.

then we all drove over to the pike, and there was NO PARKING THERE EITHER. so we drove home and walked the 4 blocks there. it was really busy there, too, but the great thing about the pike is they're always friendly, they're always fast, and the food is always mmmmMMM good.

oh and i forgot to tell you when we went home to park there was a huge uhaul parked in our driveway from people moving in, and it was damn near impossible to finagle our way into the garage. when i took michelle home, there was a BOAT of a car next to me making it a 2 person operation just to get out of my space.

moral of the story is i am never ever going anywhere ever again!

also, i have this problem every time i have to buy jeans - it becomes a weeks long ordeal because it's been so long since the last time i bought jeans those kind that fit wonderfully aren't in stores anymore... i am pleased as punch to tell you that after about 3-4 weeks of trying on about 20 different pairs of jeans at different stores i finally got some. THANK GOD. because all my pants are older than dirt and are about to fall apart at the seams.

all things you really needed to know about, right? i'm stalling. i don't wanna work on this site anymore!!!

before i go, josh and i finally saw 'best in show' last night and it was AWESOME. we're makin it a point to rent a mighty wind and for your consideration very very soon, because stone cold says so!

annnnnd i heard today that one of my old math teachers, mr. dawdy, from high school is retiring - there's kind of a big part of me that wants to go the retirement party in june. the same big part of me that made me crash my 10 yr reunion, you know? just curiousity over who will be there... i'm thinking for a math teacher's retirement party it'll be more normal people and less snobby types, yes? plus, he was one of the teachers that i really liked. and maybe he knows whatever happened to others i liked, like mr. vena or mrs. harding. the last i heard about harding was she wrote a happy letter to the local paper about how much she enjoyed her best buy geek squad experience. good times, good times.

jenn dear, here's where my issues are:

- where the hell is that little box coming from on the pages with paypal buttons?
- how can i get "shop by category" and "shop by designer" bars to be grey instead of black so they break things up a little?

to everyone else, i ask - how do you like the navigation of it? i'm thinkin the first page will have like 4 items or something that have been added recently, and then the rest of the navigation for it's along the sidebar.

if you're someone i've already talked to about having stuff in the shop, you can go ahead and start designing yourself a lovely header banner! 400 x 80, jpegs or gifs okay! also, imagonna have a little blurb about each of you under the banner, so gimmie a short statement about you, what you do and all that lovely stuff!

yay art shows! can't wait for this afternoon, my new years resolution to actually go out and see some art shows instead of talking about it all the time is a go!

imagonna go check out the magritte show at the lacma this afternoon, which should be pretty cool, especially if you like paintings of pipes or businessmen with applefaces!

then imagonna go check out the school daze show at reform school! super excited, i've been dying to go check out this store for months. don't know if i'll be there for the actual reception, as it starts at 7 and i may be done at lacma way way way before then, but still rad all the same.

in other news, my hair is in that crappy stage between awesome super-short and cool-looking longer hair, so it's really just irritating me and making me wanna bust out the scissors. but i remind myself that i'm trying something new with this hair thing so i'm gonna eat some m&ms instead and just try try try to be patient with it for a few more months before i cut it all off again.

also, in the man's keeping you down news, jenny from felt club's run into a bit of a fines situation over felt club posters from past events. apparently someone who had posters to put up hung them outside in a no post bills zone sort of thing, and the powers that be are charging jenny $400 in fines even though she's not the one who hung the poster since it was her event. she's broke as a joke like the rest of us, so in the next couple of weeks she'll be having a couple of ebay auctions for gift baskets full of arts and crafty items from people all over, including yours truly. imagonna donate a skull painting to the cause, and you're gonna bid on the gift basket it ends up in! it's the least we all can do for all the work she's put into having these events, you know? i'll keep ya posted on when the auction goes up.

seriously, this has been cracking me up for two full days now... i am not ashamed to admit that i am now kind of obsessed with the story about that crazy astronaut lady... maybe you heard about her? drove 900 miles from texas to florida in a diaper to confront this other chick that her boyfriend was seeing?

given, she's not completely crazy - the diaper thing's kinda smart, really - it's a time-saver and you don't have to worry about what kind of scary shape the rest stop bathrooms are in.

so i just finished drawing these valentines tonight and i'm so excited about em i'm gonna harass every single one of you mutual funders to print em out and give em to your friends next wednesday!

also, last night i went to karaoke with my bro brandon and his girl jackie, and dedicated a song to the crazy astronaut (don't you mean astroNUT? one of the bar patrons commented). in honor of her trek in a space diaper, i sang "on the road again". only because they didn't have david bowie's "space oddity". the end!

once i had no shoes and i cried until i met a man who had no feet

man this just stinks. a few days ago, maybe a week ago even, i got an email from wet seal's mailing list saying they were having a $5 shipping sale and hot damn they had the awesomest shoes ever right there for me to buy!!! it was love at first sight, seriously.



and then i promptly forgot about them until like 5 minutes ago. and told josh i was off to the internets to buy some amazingly retardedly awesome shoes. but they didn't have my size anymore.

the moral of the story kids is you snooze, you looze, and you can't really find anything like those shoes anywhere else on the internets. which makes me a very sad camper, indeed.
