look madge, i soaked in it!

that's what i always think when i think of madonna. don't ask me why.

i just want to tell you two things.

number one, i love home workout tapes and i'll tell you why. when you get tired, you can totally make a mockery of the moves and the instructor can't yell at you. there's no one doing poolattes with you and farting on you a'la the poolattes class at the oshkosh ymca. and it always cracks me up how gracefully her assistants do something simple like lying on their side on the mat, when i always end up making it look so bumbling awkward-like. i think i'd be a good assistant on a workout tape for trainables, maybe.

number 2, this last weekend was absolutely crazy. had a slumber party at michelle's on friday night, after dinner and drinks at the reno room. that jerk took the top bunk!

saturday went in to get a simple little oil change on my car and found out that oh dear god something else broke. 400 bucks later, and the car's got a new front axle, a new something or other that braces one of the front tires, an air filter, an oil change, a tire rotation, and an alignment. it's funny how you don't realize something was totally wrong with the car, then it gets fixed and you're all "oh god this is so much better!"

number 3, black dots got second in the battle of the bands on saturday! it was a completely awesome set with the now 5 person band, featuring danielle's singing debut (a rockin' cover of "next to you" by the police) and a large garden gnome on stage. battle wounds were doled out, and danielle and freddy both bled all over their instruments. we sold 8 (almost 9!) goats love blts shirts at the show, and a handful of pins and stickers too! some kids stole a couple of pins from our table. not that i'm bitter, just that it cracks me up (AND PISSES ME OFF!!) that they totally thought they got away with it, but the years and years of retail experience michelle and i share means we saw the whole damn thing. and one of the kids' parents were standing there! nice. niiiiiiice. whatever dude. it wasn't worth the headaches.

number 4, my friend ann graduated from whittier law school this weekend meaning watch your back, cuz i'm gonna sue every last one of you mutual funders! the ceremony was lonnnnnnng and the senator that spoke was kind of a downer, but at the end we got cake so hooray! it was awesome being able to be there for that, in a roomful of lawyers on the only day in their lives they will ever truly be applauded for being lawyers! i'm so glad maria got to come down for it, too, we had a blast hanging out with her! aaaaaaaaaaaOOOOOOOgah!!! p.s. i heart strawberry margaritas! total count this weekend: 3
